Who we are
We are a group of Burmese from Myanmar (Burma), United Kingdom, United States of America and Singapore, who feel impelled to help our countrymen in this time of dire need. Some of us took time off from our studies and flew into Myanmar (Burma) to work alongside the local volunteers from different towns and villages in Ayeyarwady and Yangon Divisions.
We are among the first groups to reach delta after cyclone Nargis. Using our extensive local networks and global contacts, we could distribute emergency supplies to more than 35,000 survivors from 44 villages within the first two weeks. Our motto is 'Working Together, Rebuilding Lives.'
What we believe
We believe we can help survivors of Cyclone Nargis to get back on their feet as quickly as possible. We also believe that community-based organizations like ours should be accountable to communities where we work, to our donors and partner organizations.
