GIRI operations-2nd distribution of rice

LEAD provided logistics to distribute 20 metric tons of rice from WFP and ADRA.  With LEAD's own distribution, the amount of rice distributed is totalled at 37.5 metric tons, which will cover a population of 5,300 for 2 weeks. For more pics, pls click

LEAD team offloading rice bags to a smaller boat.  Because of the underwater cliffs, big boats can't reach the coastal villages near Bo Yon Ga (or Pha Youn Ka) islands.

LEAD has distributed 2,200 kg of rice for 450 people, enough for 19.5 days.

GIRI relief operation has begun

LEAD is now distributing food to GIRI survivors in Pauk Taw township.  On 29 October, we have covered about 400 households in Ta Myat Chaung, Myauk Pya, Nat Shin, Kyauk Su and Byine Pite in Kyauk Su village tract and Kyauk Maung and Pyin Gyi from Byine Thit village tract.
